Nothing about your child
leaves this device.
No account, no ads, no trackers. Where something does have to leave, this page
names it rather than hiding it in a definition.
No name, answer, score or mistake
has anywhere to go.
Learner names, progress, handwriting, streaks and the
错题本 live in one file on your phone and are never sent
anywhere. There is no account to create and no profile of your child on anyone's
computer. Three things do send something out — reading a home word aloud,
reading a photographed list, and writing example sentences — and each one sends
only the words or the picture in front of you. Two of them are behind a parent
gate; the first a child can start, by tapping 听 on a
home word nothing has recorded yet.

- The word on its own goes to Microsoft to be read; the recording comes back and stays on your phone.

- Sent to Google to be read into words, on a paid tier that is not used for training. We keep no copy.

- Only while a grown-up dictates a list, or a child taps the read-aloud check.
- This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no third-party fonts or scripts.
The exceptions,
stated plainly.
Each happens only when somebody deliberately starts it, and the parent gate
stands in front of every one of them except reading a home word aloud and the
read-aloud check:
- Reading a word from your own list. The word on its own —
no name, nothing around it — goes to Microsoft's speech service
to be read aloud. The recording comes back, is kept on your phone, and that
word is never sent again. This is the one a child can set off, rather than
stare at a word the app will not say.
- Photographing a spelling list. The photo goes to
Google to be read into words. We keep no copy of it, and we
pay for the Gemini tier that is not used to train Google's models — a
worksheet can carry a child's name, class and school.
- 自编例句 on Plus. Your list of
words is sent to Google to have example sentences written for it. It cannot
change your words.
- Speaking, either way. Dictating a list and the read-aloud
check both hand the microphone to your phone's own listening, and Apple or
Google may hear it under their own rules — so both stay off until
tapped, and typing or marking yourself is always available instead.
- Buying Little Orchid Plus. Google Play handles the
payment; the app remembers only whether the full version is unlocked.
- Sharing a backup or a list. You pick where it goes in
your own share sheet. A backup holds learner names and progress, so keep it
private.

The weekly parent report is made on your phone and copied to your clipboard.
It is never sent anywhere. Nor is a learner name, an answer, a score, a
mistake or a streak — the only things we have ever received are a word to read
aloud, a list of words and a photograph of a spelling list.
